Once a traditional drover’s inn, The Tormaukin is now an exclusive-use country retreat, perfect for special getaways with your nearest and dearest. Full of character, the house offers elegant lounges, cosy nooks and crannies, and beautifully appointed en-suite bedrooms.

The property can accommodate groups of up to 14 guests, or larger gatherings of up to 20–24 guests. Nestled in the heart of Glendevon, scenic walks and countryside views begin right at the doorstep, while the world-famous Gleneagles resort and golf course less than 10 minutes away.

Stays at The Tormaukin naturally revolve around shared meals and time at the table. Most groups enjoy some level of in-house catering - whether that’s a celebratory dinner, relaxed breakfasts, or a fully catered weekend. Your own private chef, waiting staff, and housekeeping can be seamlessly arranged to suit the rhythm of your visit. A fully stocked bar complete with your own private bartender, or a pre-ordered drinks package, can also form part of the experience.

Exclusive-use stays typically range from £1,000 to £1,500 per night, depending on the season, day of the week, and group size.

Our Bedrooms
Brimming with character, each of our ten bedrooms are individually designed and thoughtfully finished with beamed ceilings, hand-picked furniture and modern comforts. All rooms are en-suite and feature either double or king-size beds, luxury orthopaedic mattresses, hypoallergenic duvets and pillows, fresh towels, and flat-screen televisions.
The main inn comprises seven ‘Olde Inn’ bedrooms located upstairs, comfortably sleeping up to 14 guests. For larger groups, the property also includes three adjoining ground-floor Coach House bedrooms, with private entrances and ideal for guests who prefer easy access or are travelling with dogs. The Coach House rooms allow the house to accommodate larger parties, and if dogs are joining you, at least one of these ground-floor rooms must be included in your booking.
If any twin bedrooms are required, or for groups wishing to increase numbers further, three additional single z-beds can be added to selected larger bedrooms, allowing the property to sleep up to 24 guests in total (each is an additional £50 per bed per night.)

Hosting & Dining
At the Tormaukin, dining is very much part of the experience. While the inn is perfectly equipped for self-catering, most groups choose to let us take care of at least some of the cooking - so you can relax, gather, and enjoy the time together.
Our in-house private chef can prepare anything from leisurely breakfasts and relaxed lunches to celebratory dinners and full evening feasts, using local, seasonal produce. Menus range from comforting pub classics and generous sharing platters to Scottish tasting menus, grazing tables, and informal street-food-style suppers.

For group stays, we offer a selection of set menus and flexible catering options, as well as half-board and full-board packages, allowing you to shape your stay around shared meals without having to think about shopping, cooking, or clearing away.
Whether it’s one special dinner or dining throughout your stay, food at the Tormaukin is designed to bring everyone together - around the table, by the fire, and long into the evening.

A Few Practical Notes...

Minimum Night's Stay
A minimum stay of two nights is required.
Maximum Guest Numbers
The limit for the number of guests allowed on the property is strictly 24 resident-only guests. If you are interested in inviting external guests onto the premises during your stay we must be notified, and this is automatically classed as an event booking - please see our Private Events page instead. For such event bookings, we do allow one night stays, depending on scale and availability.

Extra Beds
Up to three extra z-beds can be added to the largest bedrooms to sleep an extra guest - for £50 per extra guest per night

Children Policy
The house is open to all ages, and we can provide a travel cot upon request. Under 5's can stay for no extra cost.

Dog-Friendly Stays
It isn’t just your human friends and family that can come visit! We love our canine companions, and wouldn’t be without them, so feel free to bring your dogs too. Up to six dogs are welcome, as three of our bedrooms in the coach-house next to the main house are dog-friendly, as are all downstairs living areas. A supplementary cleaning charge applies for stays with dogs - £40 per dog per stay.

Booking Direct
We prefer if you book direct with us to guarantee you the best price and to discuss any additional requirements you may have, such as catering or bar options. In the low season, we may have more flexibility on rates and minimum stay. Please enquire for our availability and prices via the form below.

Booking Deposits
We require a 50% deposit to secure an exclusive-use group booking, while the remainder should be paid 8 weeks before arrival. All bookings are subject to our Terms & Conditions.
