Our team can also decorate your event for you, with an array of wild and wonderful themes, including Alice in Wonderland,

Great Gatsby, Burlesque 'Moulin Rouge', Arabian Nights, and even a Medieval banquet! Our catering can be themed to suit too, from dainty tea parties, streetfood bonanazas, to retro & world-food buffets - the options are endless!


The downstairs of Tormaukin House can be hired exclusively, or for individual room hire. Why not stay the night too in our 10 beautiful bedrooms? Please enquire for our availability and prices, as well as our catering options available for any and all private hires.

Our Versatile Spaces....

The Garden Room

Our brightest light-filled space, bursting with plants & shabby chic furnishings, the French doors open out onto the patio area when the sun is shining.

Occupancy: 22 people seated on one long table, or 35 people standing

The Garden Room is a fitting location for coffee mornings and afternoon teas. With ideal lighting for photoshoots, the space can also be converted into a dance-floor. 

The adjoining outdoor patio is the perfect spot for a summer BBQ or garden party, to eat, drink or lounge on the furniture

The Dining Room

A grand ambient space dominated by rich greens, walnut & ornate brassware, a crackling fire, a ceiling full of beams, and eclectic antiques, make this our largest and most impressive room.

Occupancy: 30 people seated on one long table (50 at separate tables), 60 people standing

The Dining Room is the heart of the house. Highly versatile, the room can be arranged with one long table for dining.

The Snug & Bar

Get nice and cosy in our animal-

snug, or hop on a tartan barstool for a wee dram or two!

Occupancy: 20 people seated at

separate tables, approx 35 people standing

A warm and inviting space, our snug is perfect for small informal gatherings, and to enjoy a coffee or a tipple by the open fire!


Walk through the archway into the adjoining old pub bar, dark and dramatic and dotted with curiosities.

The Billiards Room

Old exposed stone walls, white-panelling, and ancient beams with a flickering open fire.

Occupancy: 15 people for seated drinks, or approx 25 people standing. The pool/dining table can seat 8 people for dining/conference

Wind down with a drink or two on our cushy chesterfields, while your friends compete with a game of pool, darts or chess in the adjoining space, split in two by a stone wall with an open fire.


The pool table can also be converted into a formal dining table, seating 8 people.

Catering & Drinks

Each and every event is personally catered by our own in-house private chef from our commercial kitchen, meaning our food offering can be extremely flexible. Be it breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, or dinner - we can prepare a variety of cuisines, from traditional pub grub to Scottish tasting menus, amazing grazing platters and street food bonanzas to banquets fit for a laird! 

As the house has its own bar, a range of drinks may be pre-ordered before the event from our Drinks List or you might opt for one of our 'full-bar' options for the true pub experience (subject to a minimum spend fee.)

Menus & prices vary from £12 to £85 per head. Please enquire for our prices.

Party Nights
(Minimum of 20, maximum of 50 guests)

Host the party of your dreams, with exclusive-use of the entire house for one-night, including an overnight stay in our 1o beautiful bedrooms, as well as the snug, bar, dining room, billiards room, garden room, and outdoor patio area.

'Chef's Table', Private Lunch or Dinner Party Hire

(Minimum of 10, maximum of 50 guests)

Let our in-house private chef prepare a special luncheon or dinner for your party, whether a traditional afternoon tea, lavish three-course meal, or a buffet feast. Available either for exclusive-use of all public areas, or room hire of our Dining Room or Garden Room.
